...8 today!
Well no, technically the anniversary was on the 14th March, but I wasn't prepared to let the Blogday, the eighth to be exact, slip by without recognition, no by Jove!
I was starting to believe that some semblance of normality was returning to my hobby world. I was enjoying the ‘IX Analogue Hobbies Painting Challenge’, posting more regularly and starting to get through the backlog of unpublished work from last year. Sadly, real life has conspired to throw yet another metaphorical spanner into the works.
Once again, I should stress that we are both physically well, but I expect the months ahead to be demanding of time as we come to terms with what this latest challenge will mean for us as a family. I have noticed that with the onset of years that I have become more hesitant to embrace change, but I think in this instance it is exactly what is needed. So with a 'half glass full' outlook, I am determined to get back to devoting time to this most wholesome of hobbies.
The photograph above shows the paint table on, or about, the Blogday itself. All manner of curiosities abound as I was trying frantically to get things finished before the Challenge's deadline. As I write this some, sadly, remain incomplete, but new diversions have kept me busy and I hope to share some of those shortly. I certainly didn't see myself assembling and painting British Paratroopers at the start of the year, but a wonderful collaboration has seen me contribute, albeit in a small way, to an extraordinary project that is due for completion this June.
So it is very much my intention that '28mm Victorian Warfare' will continue to chart my progress and I look forward to trying to get things back on track over the Easter Break. Expect some more 'catch up' posts, but also plenty of new material from this Year's Challenge, the subject of which has a distinct Star Wars bias. I am looking forward to hosting another summer game day here at 'Awdry Towers' and most importantly taking some time to rediscover the many splendid weblogs that I enjoy following.
