Paint Table Saturday#68

Sadly no painting today as domestic chores beckon, but I thought I would just take stock of where my 'Challenge' is at the moment.  With the bonus theme rounds all but done, what remains on the table are the miniatures required to reach my target of a 1000 points!  This doesn't look good, with only twenty something days remaining it is now highly unlikely that I'm going to achieve that, but not to worry.  'The Analogue Hobbies Painting Challenge' remains a wonderful incentive to get things done over the winter months and although I toyed with the idea of a 'Plan B' in order to amass quick points this has been subsequently dismissed on the grounds that it doesn't seem in the spirit of the event - I'm happy to pootle along and see just how close I get.

  1. IMHO, getting close, sir, is better than getting lost in the fog of "I wish I could."

    We shall persevere to persevere!

  3. Never mind Michael, there's nothing like a good pootle. I'm not one for deadlines myself.

    1. It is certainly fun taking part and you are right, deadlines can be so restrictive. ;)

  7. I'd be wondering how much you wounldn't have done without the incentive of the Challenge and coming anywhere near close to your target is something to be proud of - progress is progress after all, no matter how much.

    1. Wise words Joe, thank you. I think you are absolutely right, the incentive of the challenge has really inspired me again this year.

  8. It is a view some of us take as we get older in life and why not. Easy like a Sunday morning.

A little tip for storing your paints Michael, is to have the lids pointing downwards. Apparently this helps prevent having the clear liquid come out of the end before the paint itself.

    1. I couldn't agree more Pat, after all it is a hobby that is supposed to relax us. Now as for those pots, I tried turning them upside down and you are absolutely right, it certainly helps to keep the paint mixed. I just didn't like the way it looked - sad really!

  11. I'm not going to reach my revised total either due to real life interfering. I've also come to the conclusion that rushing things won't make much difference and the outcome will be less that satisfactory. Pootling is the way to go!

  12. Your bench looks like mine atm! Lovely selection of figures, but sadly, not much paint on 'em! I do like that paint rack too!

    1. It is all very frustrating, but I'm sure they will done at some point. The paint rack is just about the right size for my conner of the dining room table and came from these chaps:

  13. Hello Michael,

seems like we're in the same boat. My bonus entries are mostly done but my goal of 750 points seems anreachable. I'll share your plan B and see how much I'll achieve during the last weeks of the challenge.

By the way once again pure eye candy in the comedic bonus round. Your interpretation of Cpt. Hook is really top-notch, my friend!

    Cheers
    Stefan
