More Clubmen!

Just the briefest of posts this morning to showcase the other half of the Clubmen pack from 'Warlord Games'.  As mentioned before they were not the best of miniatures to prepare, but ultimately the investment in preparation time resulted in some wonderfully characterful sculpts to paint up.

I perhaps should have mentioned previously that these miniatures come with an assortment of tools and implements to act as weapons so plenty of scope for conversions.  I like that the idea that these tough, toiling sons of the earth would not have had access to military grade hardware, instead choosing to pick up the fist 'pointy' thing hat came to hand, consequently I went for a rusted look, with a freshly honed edge - perfect for dispatching those denizens of the night.  I hope to have some 'Redoubt Enterprises' clubmen to show in comparison soon, they are just applying their make up before their turn in the photographic studio!

  2. These (and the ones you've shown before) are very nice figures. You've done a very expressive job on them. It's nice to see pitchforks and billhooks being put to good use.

  3. You peasant mod is coming along nicely. I expect they will need a few more torches then to wait for dusk before storming the local castle! Very characterful and great additions.

  11. The rusted effect is very impressive. Did you use pigment, or regular dry-brushing?

  16. I'm sorry what club do they belong to again the South Warlords? Just the sort of salt of the earth chaps to see of a couple of Witchfinder pedos! Sorry I guess you can tell my allegiance falls on the side of the witches. Lovey painting the weapons have that stored in the leaky shed but still in use look.

  17. Very nice painting work. Some figures from Warlord (a lot of them, in fact) are not very good, but your painting has made them really nice.

  19. Very nice paintjob once again!

And true Warlord minis can be a pain to clean up. Massive amounts of flash and other things to clean up to counter the fact that they do have some very nice sculpts and poses in the different ranges. Same with Perry stuff too. Seems that the best sculpts are the worst cast then :)
