Paint Table Saturday#73

A huge thank you to all those that continue to leave comments on these posts; they are gratefully received. There has been a little bit of progress this week with the completion of General Tor and the first few passes at a couple of Zombicide walkers. Given that these are plastic miniatures, mass produced for their respective board games there is still plenty of detail to keep me interested.

In other news, I have also been fiddling around with a couple of penguins just for fun.  Burtonesque armaments, scavenged from a variety of sources, have now been fastened to the flightless felons' backs!  I just wish I had a modicum of skill when it came to putty pushing; the ubiquitous greenstuff once again adhering to everything but its intended target.  Still with a bit of luck it will come together when painted.

Finally an image of all that I managed for the 'Vth Analogue Hobbies Painting Challenge'.  This meagre* collection represents just shy of four months work, but did achieve a total of 1040 points, thanks manly to the very supportive voting of my fellow challengers when it came to the bonus themed rounds.

*Take a look a what others managed to achieve in the time and you will understand why I use the word meagre; simply staggering amounts of work here.

  3. I'm eager to see the penguins or should i say the penguin's minions. The key to greenstuff is that it will always stick to its self so you need wipe your tools down anytime there is bits till on them. You also need to dip them in water before touching them to the greenstuff.

  8. Nice work Michael. The Penguins do have a 'classic' TV series feel to them, or they could go just as well in a Wallace and Gromit episode.

  11. Quality is every bit as important as quantity mate. Your entries light up the Challenge every year and this was no exception. I always try to pick a favourite from amongst your entries and I always fail miserably...

As others have said, you went for quality over quantity, and my word what quality. Your entries in the Challenge were always a feast for the eyes :)

  18. Looks good Michael the conversions are fantastic. I haven't tried GS yet but I find with milliput leaving it to cure for 10-15 minutes helps with reduce some of the stickiness also making it bigger than it needs to be you can file/trim it down to size afterwards.

  20. Meager? You've painted more in four months than I have in the past twelve. It all looks great too.

When pushing greenstuff around, ChapStick lip balm is a great tool-lube.

  28. Wow ... that zombie girl on the far right (my right) looks like that famous Marilyn Monroe 'flying skirt' photo. You could have painted her as Marilyn Monroe next to that famous photo. Just saying. ^_^ Nice work again Michael!

  29. I would recommend using oil to keep GS from sticking to any surface you don't want them to stick on
