A Blood Bowl Apothecary

I do love this time of year, simply because I can indulge in so many wonderfully obscure miniatures under the banner of 'Dinovember'!  So with this post, I'm pleased to reveal my latest edition to  the 'South Coast Saurus' bench - the surgeon!    I soon discovered, that Blood Bowl is a bruising game and what better way to give the team the chance to run off those niggling sprains than with their very own Apothecary.

Once again from 'Comixininos' and again a little assembly was required with the tail and saw arm needing to be attached.  He has this wonderfully maniacal look to him and I couldn't resist giving him heavy duty rubber gloves and a rusty old saw to instil confidence in the rest of the team!  A little smaller in stature than the Bloodweiser Babe, but none the less enjoyable to paint - now to find a miniature to represent Coach Awdry!

  1. Cold Bloods to the fore! (and not just of the alcoholic variety).

Love the rusty effect you've painted to the saw. I've a miniature that I can (somewhat) link to Dinovember, so I'll give it a shot :)

  2. Lovely work Michael!
Every Blood Bowl team needs a sawbones to keep their star players performing week after week. He fits the bill beautifully.

  3. That's some entourage you're collecting – kind of need to play BB again.

  4. A fine looking sawbones to help ensure your team perform to consistently high standards on the field :)

    1. Absolutely Tamsin, but judging how they performed on their last outing he's going to be kept busy!

  7. I love him! Just look at that blood spattered apron and that saw. He is smaller than the Bloodweiser Babes and that with less room for your brush, a bit harder to paint detail.. Very much looking forward to seeing what Coach Awdry looks like.

I finished my first Dino last night and I'm working on his base tonight. There's nothing special about him, just a standard Dino with a basic palette. But as it's my first I'm fairly excited about it.

  10. Great character figure. With a little grog to ease the patient's pain, the Doctor can now work his mayhem of mangling and madness.

  11. Cute figure! As an 'Apothecary' myself I'd be so tempted to use that saw myself sometimes! ;-) I suppose at least when treating reptilian patients there's a reasonabe chance the removed part may grow back!

    1. Thank you Robert, the coach is proving to be a tad difficult to finish so I might leave it for a while and come back to it later in the month.

  15. Wonderful! I never know what I'll find when I click in, but I'm always awed. This is an inspired conversion and painting!

Any game with figures this good must be a blast to play.
