I do love this time of year, simply because I can indulge in so many wonderfully obscure miniatures under the banner of 'Dinovember'! So with this post, I'm pleased to reveal my latest edition to the 'South Coast Saurus' bench - the surgeon! I soon discovered, that Blood Bowl is a bruising game and what better way to give the team the chance to run off those niggling sprains than with their very own Apothecary.
Once again from 'Comixininos' and again a little assembly was required with the tail and saw arm needing to be attached. He has this wonderfully maniacal look to him and I couldn't resist giving him heavy duty rubber gloves and a rusty old saw to instil confidence in the rest of the team! A little smaller in stature than the Bloodweiser Babe, but none the less enjoyable to paint - now to find a miniature to represent Coach Awdry!
Cold Bloods to the fore! (and not just of the alcoholic variety).
ReplyDeleteLove the rusty effect you've painted to the saw. I've a miniature that I can (somewhat) link to Dinovember, so I'll give it a shot :)
Thank you Roy and the more dinosaurs the better in my view!
DeleteLovely work Michael!
ReplyDeleteEvery Blood Bowl team needs a sawbones to keep their star players performing week after week. He fits the bill beautifully.
Thank you Bob, I couldn't agree more Sir.
DeleteThat's some entourage you're collecting – kind of need to play BB again.
ReplyDeleteThe thought had crossed my mind too. :D
DeleteA fine looking sawbones to help ensure your team perform to consistently high standards on the field :)
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely Tamsin, but judging how they performed on their last outing he's going to be kept busy!
DeleteWow, another sexy nurse-type to encourage the team !
ReplyDeleteEncourage or scare them witless!
Deletewonderful!
ReplyDeleteyour support team is fantastic!
bye
Thank you Luca, it is certainly shaping up nicely.
DeleteI love him! Just look at that blood spattered apron and that saw. He is smaller than the Bloodweiser Babes and that with less room for your brush, a bit harder to paint detail.. Very much looking forward to seeing what Coach Awdry looks like.
ReplyDeleteI finished my first Dino last night and I'm working on his base tonight. There's nothing special about him, just a standard Dino with a basic palette. But as it's my first I'm fairly excited about it.
Thank you so much Anne and I can't wait to see your Dinosaur.
DeleteThank you Andrew, of course you know that I balme you entire for all this nonsense! :)
ReplyDeleteLove these beautiful pom pom girls, great job!!
ReplyDeleteThank you Phil.
DeleteGreat character figure. With a little grog to ease the patient's pain, the Doctor can now work his mayhem of mangling and madness.
ReplyDeleteThank you Jay, I think he looks like a chap who enjoys his work a little too much.
DeleteCute figure! As an 'Apothecary' myself I'd be so tempted to use that saw myself sometimes! ;-) I suppose at least when treating reptilian patients there's a reasonabe chance the removed part may grow back!
ReplyDeleteI didn't know you were an 'Apothecary', I think I'm even more in awe of you now!
DeleteGreat work there on the Lizzies, I love the paintjob
ReplyDeleteThank you Pete, that's very kind.
DeleteHehe! Excellent work. The black gloves add a great touch.
ReplyDeleteThank you, I was going for that rubberised feel.
DeleteI'm confident I'd get right back into the field as soon as I saw him approaching! Very well done Sir I can't wait for the coach.
ReplyDeleteThank you Robert, the coach is proving to be a tad difficult to finish so I might leave it for a while and come back to it later in the month.
DeleteWhat fun! Love these figures!
ReplyDeleteThank you and great fun to paint too.
DeleteWonderful! I never know what I'll find when I click in, but I'm always awed. This is an inspired conversion and painting!
ReplyDeleteAny game with figures this good must be a blast to play.
Thank you Monty, we like to keep you guessing!
DeleteFabulous saw bones; will you be building a dugout for him? I've already started sketching mine out....
ReplyDeleteNow funny you should mention that Herbert, I did sketch out some ideas, but it has been shelved for the moment.
DeleteWonderful work on all of these, Michael; but I do like Ms. Bloodwieser a lot! Just goes to show how far a nice smile can go :) Best, Dean
ReplyDeleteThank you Dean, she is a bit special although I hear that she does have quite a temper!
DeleteA great choice of colours on these Michael, they are real eye catchers.
ReplyDeleteWeird missed this post. Great work Michael. Your team and its associated staff will be the best looking one in the league!
