Euro Militaire 2014

As a tentative first post after my self imposed exile, I thought I would share some of these amazing examples of model painting that the 'Provost Marshall' and I witnessed at this Year's Euro Militaire.  By tradition, this is an event that leaves me humbled and inspired in equal measure and this year was no different.

This has to be the work of our very own Mr. Lee, of Mr. Lee's Painting Emporium fame.

Things continue to be incredibly busy at work, but I am determined to get back into my hobby routine and what better way than to launch oneself into 'Zomtober 2014'.  For full details and rules, such as they are head over to 'Brummie's Wargaming Blog' and register your interest.

Finally, I would just like to say a huge thank you for all the kinds words of support - it's great to be back!

  1. Amazing pictures! Thanks for sharing these. People sure can achieve amazing things with paint and brushes. Would be nice to come even close to some of those.

Euro Militaire is definately something that I have to visit someday. I've been drooling over images from there for years. Never ceases to amaze. And I guess they are even more amazing when you see them live and not just from pics.

  3. Cheers for sharing the E.M. pics. I love that Soviet tank being lifted from out the water.
I was lucky enough to be taken to a E.M. show in the mid-90s, by my parent's during a school holiday. Thoroughly enjoyed myself, and I only wish that digital cameras had been invented back then :)

  7. What an incredible assemblage of talent! I'll never do anything that cool, but that doesn't mean I'm not inspired to try and extend myself as a painter.

Thanks for the great pics, Michael!

    1. Certainly had the same thoughts Evan, plus I'd get bored working on anything bigger than 28mm - that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!

  13. That dio of the little girl with the bunny. All that blood, oh my! Such great sculpts and brushwork. I saw Mr. Lee's dio over at Massive Voodoo. He certainly has skyrocketed to the top.

    Welcome back Michael!

    1. That grisly dio was, to all extents and purposes, 28mm in scale! As for Mr. Lee, I couldn't agree more, he is always jetting off to see the voodoo boys and it really does show.
