Another weekend and so the first job of the day, after making the tea and bringing in the milk, is to photograph the working area for 'Paint Table Saturday'. This delightfully simple idea has seen me try to ensure that at least something has happened over the week to save the embarrassment of submitting the same photograph for two weeks running - the shame of it!
So this week the Celtic War band is all but complete and so have been disguised until they have been entered in the '4th Analogue Hobbies Painting Challenge', a requirement of the rules, although you can see the Celtic cross, from 'Ainsty Castings', which was also done during the week to enhance the entry. My focus for this weekend will be the Matabele warriors, which have already received their undercoat and some base colour. I have picked up some more in the 'North Star Miniatures' sale, which obviously need prepping. Finally there is some terrain building that I have to make a start on if I can get some peace and quiet from my Brachiosaurus - fortunately the 'Saintly Mrs. Awdry' has attached a bell so at least I can hear him coming and move any delicate items to the side.
Don'y forget to see what others are up to this weekend by visiting 'Sofie's Paint Blog'.
So was that a bell on the saintly Mrs Awdry or the Dinosaur???
ReplyDeleteInteresting. Looking forward to more painted Victoriana, it is always so well done.
ReplyDeleteMaybe they should have put bells on those in Jurassic park. It would change the film a bit.
Can't beat a paint table with a dinosaur in it!
ReplyDeleteNice Dinosaur - brontosaurus?
ReplyDeleteI have this theory...
DeleteWhat do you call a dinosaur with one eye?
DeleteDyathinkesaurus?
It will be interesting to see the figures behind the question marks Michael. I'm looking forward to your finished Matabele warriors.
Ah, Tamsin, I see that you got the same Christmas crackers as we did!

I am looking forward to seeing those Matabele warriors coming along and also the Celts. Love the bell ringing dino
ReplyDeleteNice table, I'm about to do mine also, but to my hsame, not much has changed this week...
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to more painted .

The Brachiosaur, henceforth will forever be known as Tinkerbell.
ReplyDeleteInteresting mix of figures, which hopefully we'll see in due course.
Thanks for participating and showing your paint table! I posted your link in my blog post.
ReplyDeleteGreetings, Sofie
That's a bell? At first I thought it was a scarf but them again we've been going through a brutal cold snap so everyone is wearing one. Nice to see that the Mrs. is getting into the spirit of things! Can't wait until the question marks com off.
ReplyDeleteI want to congratulate you on your 250,000 page views…that is quite an accomplishment…well done
ReplyDeleteVery nicely organized Man Divot, Michael. It doesn't look to me that the dino is enjoying the neck decoration.
ReplyDeleteThat's a huge dino!
ReplyDeleteEverything's better with dinosaurs.
ReplyDeleteYou store some of your paints upside-down I see.
My own workbench is looking far more modest - I'll have to lift my production rate somewhat.
ReplyDeleteHas any work been done on the ability of a strategically-placed brachiosaur to improve productivity?
I do love Celts! Can't wait to see them without the ? mark.
ReplyDeleteI see the dino is getting used on the camera! :-D
ReplyDeleteGreetings
Peter
