Everything stops for tea.

Just the briefest of posts today as I have just realised that I hadn't posted this small collection of loosely themed miniatures that were part of my efforts in the 'VII Analogue Hobbies Painting Challenge'.  In the back of my mind, I have an inkling that the new 'Congo' rules are something that I need to have and in order to justify that purchase, I have dusted down a few bits and pieces that might be suitable.
Various manufacturers on show here, Copplestone, Dixon and Northstar, I believe, but do correct me if not the case.  I was actually quite surprised at how many potentially suitable miniatures I already have for this departure and so who knows where this may lead?

  1. Great little collection, Michael, and nice flesh tones on the natives.

  2. One of the things I admire about you is that you stick to Victorian and do it so very well. (Yes you have little detours but then you come back!)

  7. They look great together, as if it was meant to be. Which I believe is largely the result of your skills with the brush. Beautiful work!

  24. "A civilised cup of tea with the unwashed heathen." Quite the image, my imagination has some fun hollywood-style scenes for these four characters.

The tribespeople's skin tones are very nicely done Michael, care to offer which paints you used?

    1. Thank you Dai as for paint I used to use a couple of Foundry paint triads, namely African Flesh and Dark African flesh. More recently, and so the ones illustrated, I switched to the Reaper Master Series triad, Dark Skin made up of 09040, 09041 and 09042. I should add that I use a black base coat and occasional a sepia wash before the final highlight.
