Paint Table Saturday#84

Flushed with the success of finally finishing my 'Penguin Crew', I set about unearthing the other Batman Miniatures that I picked up at 'Salute 2015'. Having carefully unpacked them, I tentatively shook a small file at a couple of pieces and duly stopped - I just wasn't ready to do battle with them quite yet.  Instead I set about prepping and basing a small flock of Dodos from 'Freebooter Fate' range.  I know that there was a good reason why I ended up purchasing these, but for the life of me, I'm struggling to remember!

Some painting has happened today though with the 'Rocket Penguins' getting a little colour on them, but I'm afraid progress has been painfully slow of late.

  2. Splendid looking penguins... rather dangerous-looking, and I like the dodos too.

    1. Self detonating penguins are never good to have around the painting table for too long!

  12. Does one NEED a reason to purchase dodos? I think not sir.

    1. That's a dashed good point and eloquently put Sir, feel free to drop by anytime and justify my hobby expenditure to the Saintly Mrs. Awdry! :D

  13. Let me remind you why you bought the Dodos. Simply because they are lovely and will feed a ships crew, what other reason would one need?

    1. I knew there was a perfectly good reason Clint, thank you. Somewhere there is a scenario I was hoping to play with them adapted from a 'Beer and Pretzels' game involving Turkeys, I just need to find it!

  14. Rocket penguins! Fiendish! They are superb Michael. Great concept from the start. I know you are taking influences from different Batman productions, but were they in the Adam West Batman show or a totally original design? I can hear Burgess Meredith's cackling laugh right now!

  16. Lovely work on these aquatic birdies, Michael. Who can resist penguins, particularly when they're painted so beautifully like yours.

  17. Very cool. I detect a "flightless bird" theme. Can a pack of angry, angry emus be far behind?

  18. Oh, these penguins are awesome! The basing is especially well done.

  19. Nice work on the Penguins! I don't think you need a good reason to buy Dodo's. The fact that there are such minis is already reason good enough :)

  20. Very nice work on the penguins, Sir! You really keep seducing me to that Batman thing...

The Dodos are nice as well but honestly I see no need for them... ;-)
