Send in the Clowns

Isn't it rich?

Me here at last on the ground,

Send in the clowns.


A somewhat rushed, Zomtober post #3 sees these stunning sculpts from 'Tengu Miniatures' rise and join the ranks of the undead.  Essentially the same design they come with a different right arm, head and tie to allow for a variety of poses.  When it came to the painting I drew inspiration from a variety of sources, for example the chap with the bow tie was based on the zombie clown that makes an appearance in the climatic scenes of the wonderful 'Zombieland' as for his companion, well let's just call him 'Donald' and assume he had a dubious Scottish ancestry! 


I'm afraid, I've fallen behind somewhat on replying to comments and have missed a great many posts on the erstwhile blogs that I follow; fortunately there is some respite in sight and an opportunity to catch up once again.

    And I've always thought that Clowns were impervious to the Zed virus. Something in their make up, I think, neutralizes the virus. That's why so many Clowns do zombie jokes. If a clown can get them laughing, he can save a lot innocent citizens from being a Zed meal. Sorry, my mind just drifted a little bit off center.

      Now that is a curious thought Sir, impervious to the virus due to the high lead content on their face paint sadly this in term led to madness! Either way thank you!

    "Donald" is very creepy as is his life sized replica in his eating establishment down the street. Excellent work I would not have thought them rushed without your comment.

    As if some people didn't find ordinary clowns scary enough, now you've given us Zed-clowns! :)

    Hmmm, here's a thought - maybe Donaldson is the mystery source of the Zed contagion, having started to spread it through the *cough* beef *cough* in the burgers sold in his chain of fast food outlets....

    Excellent work there, love them both, but the Donald colour scheme was an inspired choice!

    Superb painting Sir M! I hate clowns! When I was a lad my Dad used to paint pictures. He painted a very jolly happy looking clown and hung it in me and my brothers room. At night he happy and jolly clown turned into one evil looking fecker and used to frighten the bloody life out of us!
    Did I say I don't like clowns???

    Must admit I'm one of those people who have always felt a bit creeped out by clowns in general - these multiply the effect immeasurably - I am now hiding behind the sofa... has it gone yet??? ;-)
