Still buoyed with the news that my copy of the third series of the 'Walking Dead' is but a month or two away from been delivered to 'Awdry Towers' it seemed churlish not to get this second set done having completed the 'Post Apocalyptic Family', earlier in the week.
As with the previous set, 'Michelle – Human Survivor' is a loosely veiled incarnation of Michonne, a character from the 'Walking Dead' and comes complete with a couple of pets! It will not surprise many to hear that the sculpts are good and clean with very little flesh as seems to be the norm with the wonderful work from 'Studio Miniatures'.
Michonne appears very briefly at the end of the second series as Andrea, seemingly surrounded and out of ammunition awaits her fate in the woods following the chaotic escape from Hershel's farm - this of course will mean very little to anyone who hasn't seen the program! Drawing my reference directly from the program has been problematic this time as even a cursory 'google' search has the potential to contain spoilers for the third series, but it would appear that our katana wielding heroine maintains her grisly companions as a form of defence.
The sculptor has obviously decided to have fun with the pets creating some truly revolting animated corpses; one complete with a beer belly, an affliction I can relate to of late! Still at a push I can use these as additions to the growing horde, taking the tally to sixteen - just another fourteen to go then!
Great work again. You'll do the whole main cast in a blink of an eye.
ReplyDeleteThank you Andrew, I think that will be it for the time being though.
DeleteCool! Are you planning to have the 'pets' on chains like the Walking Dead character's companions?
ReplyDeleteI did think about that briefly, but dismissed it as an unnecessary addition - that and a lot of extra hard work!
DeleteReally nice work and great additions. Everything you add to this project has a danger of side tracking me!
ReplyDeleteThank you Clint and my heartfelt apologies. ;)
DeleteOh they're fun!
ReplyDeleteAlright, ready for the start of the next season now!
Absolutely, bring it on!
DeleteMore top work Michael, I've not seen walking dead but I really should watch it.
ReplyDeleteThank you Mr. Smillie, I would certainly give the first series a go.
DeleteWonderful work on these very fine sculpts Michael!
ReplyDeleteThank you Rodger, they were great fun to work on.
DeleteAbsolutely badass Michael!
ReplyDeleteShe certainly seems like a lady not to fall out with!
DeleteExcellent work! I keep resisting the temptation not to buy the 'not The Walking Dead' characters. But alas my determination is faltering. Particularly if they keep adding characters. Michonne is one of great characters of the series after Rick Grimes, both in the TV series and the graphic novels/comics.
ReplyDeleteMark, I am sorry! I'll to resist from adding anymore for the time being; looking forward to seeing Michonne's character developing in the third series.
DeleteReally great i like this Michael .
ReplyDeleteCheers
Thank you Vincent.
DeleteReally nice work Michael :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Tamsin.
DeleteThe Zombies look pretty armless to me......and the blonde one hasn´t got the guts anyway....:-p
ReplyDeleteNot sure why she´s got a rain cape but it´s nice painting.
It does look a little like a gas cape doesn't it! Many thanks Paul.
DeleteVery nice ! those zeds are so cool.
ReplyDeleteThank you, that is really kind of you.
DeleteNice job Michael, You'll find this version though the same character based more so on the comics than the tv series. The character is still very cool and has slowly become a favourite of mine.
ReplyDeleteThank you Simon, I've been tempted to grab a couple of the graphic novels.
DeleteExcellent! Disgusting, but excellent!
ReplyDeleteThank you, I think.
DeleteYou capture the character well Michael. You should pick up the comics they are sufficiently different from the TV show that they're different stories.
ReplyDeleteThank you Robert, I must admit I quite fancy grabbing a couple to check out the style of the graphic novels.
DeleteWhat do you do if you have an itch? :)
ReplyDeleteIt is certainly going to prove problematic! ;)
DeleteYou are really getting into this Michael. I noticed that beer belly in the side view and thought "Yep, that's an American" Well at least he won't be able to sit in front of the telly on his arse all day cramming crips into his face whilst drink Pabst Blue Ribbon Beer.
ReplyDeleteI think that will be enough for the time being, I need to get back on track - now pass the crisps and beer. ;)
