This year, I am going to be playing...
Mike 'the Dark Templar' Reynolds, alerted me to this 'Wargame Hobby 'Bingo' card created by the incredibly talented, and jolly nice chap, Rob Hawkins Esq. It is generic enough to be used for any historical period or hobby style. Each row contains a square for painting, conversion work and scenery building, so you need to do a little bit of everything to fill it in. The card is reproduced with kind permission from Rob, but if you haven't already done so, I would urge you to take some time to visit his truly inspirational site: The Rob Hawkins Hobby Blog
I have created a separate page, here, to chart my progress...
"Eyes down for a Full House!"
Two fat ladies.......a fun idea!
ReplyDeleteSomebody had to mention the ladies, I had my money on Ray. ;)
DeleteIf it encourages more hobby it's got to be a good thing, shall watch your progress with interest
ReplyDeleteThank you Dave, I liked the variety of options on offer.
DeleteBrill idea, Michael. I absolutely love it!! Certainly something I'd be interested in looking at once the AHPC has finished rather than my own monthly challenges. Thanks for this :-)
ReplyDeleteHappy to share, I reckon you could mark a few off already.
DeleteHa ha, this reminds me a bit of my own "painting generator", should be fun and sort of turns the mundane process of painting and making stuff into a game of it's own.
ReplyDeleteCheers Roger.
Anything that helps to keep me interested is worth a go. ;)
DeleteReally great idea!
ReplyDeleteGreat fun too.
Delete:) you're the second one I read this year who borrowed it (the first one was Richard Smith), I think it's a great idea. Perhaps I should make one for myself too, just to keep me going.
ReplyDeleteAs soon as I saw it and read the diversity of ideas I was determined to give it a go, sounds like a blast.
DeletePlease promis to spell out the BINGO ere then you get it :)
ReplyDeleteI shall be shouting it from the rooftops Michael. :)
DeleteNow this looks like fun, will have to give it a go!
ReplyDeleteThere is certainly plenty of fun to go around.
DeleteSounds fun. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteThank you Simon.
DeleteOH! Now we can watch your progress with the item posted for the square your filling! I would suggest however not dabbing the bingo blotter on your monitor!
ReplyDeleteNow I've been thinking about that and have a cunning plan, just need to finish something so that I can try it out! :)
DeleteDid all the squares today..HOUSE!!!!!
ReplyDeleteOk..I´ll go for that..25 squares should be easy enough. The Paint all the minis in a board game and Play it might be a sticking Point but I´ll think about that.
The one Thing. The middle one. can the based army be one that´s already finished or one that is in progress when one starts the Bingo ?..oh, and what constitutes a army? Mine tend to be pretty open ended..ie; there is no end in sight.
I´ve thought....chess, would that Count?
DeleteChess...AHA!!!! Now I have had an idea :-)
DeleteI think you can interpret in anyway you like. I am going for new posts this year can count, so I have a few to claim already. ;)
DeleteOk...I´ll have a bash..see what happens
DeleteFingers crossed for a 'full house'.
ReplyDeleteSadly I doubt I'll ever get a 'line' (in nay direction, let alone a 'full house.
ReplyDeleteHobby Bingo ... what an ingenious idea.
